Portugal-born all-rounder Moises Henriques is set to make his Test debut for Australia against India in the opening Test in Chennai from Friday.
Australia named their 12 on Wednesday morning and have Glenn Maxwell, the Indian Premier League's million dollar man, as their 12th man.
While David Warner - recovering from an injury - has been named, all-rounder Henriques too will get to make his debut and will be Australian Test cap number 432. Having played in three ODI matches against Sri Lanka recently, the 26-year-old took three wickets in the final match to help his side register a 32-run win. While Henriques has the experience of just 5 ODIs, his stints in the IPL may make him an asset for skipper Michael Clarke.
Clarke will also have the support of another all-rounder in the side - Shane Watson - who on Tuesday said that he will bat at the Number 4 position. There were speculations on who among Watson, Warner and Ed Cowan would open but the seasoned 31-year-old said a day earlier that he would drop down if everyone was fit to bat.
AUSTRALIAN 12: Clarke (c), Cowan, Henriques, Hughes, Lyon, Pattinson, Siddle, Starc, Wade, Warner, Watson, Maxwell (12th).
