Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani to Attend India-England Test at Rajkot
The stadium at Khandheri is hosting its first-ever Test match and its administrator Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) has decided to make the event memorable by inviting important personalities including PM Narendra Modi.

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani would attend the first Test match between India and England, starting from November 9 at SCA stadium and felicitate players from Saurashtra region who have represented the country in the longest format of the game.
The stadium at Khandheri is hosting its first-ever Test match and its administrator Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) has decided to make the event memorable by inviting important personalities.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, too, has been invited but his participation is not yet confirmed.
"We have invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani to attend the first Test match," Himanshu Shah, SCA media manager, said.
The SCA has received a confirmation on Rupani's presence from the CM office, he said.
"The Chief Minister would attend the Test match on the opening day, where he would felicitate former players like Salim Durani, Karsan Ghavri, Yajurvendra Singh and Dhiraj Parsana, all from Saurashtra who have played Test matches for the nation," Shah said.
Two current members of the India team from the region, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravindra Jadeja would also be felicitated by Rupani, he added.
