Kolkata:
The former India captain has put the meeting high on his list of priorities and decided to take part in the high-profile Kolkata Knight Riders coach selection meeting, starting this weekend, in Mumbai one day later.
Ganguly, who represented Mohammedan Sporting in the AGM on July 31 and impressed everybody with his well-thought presentation, however, will represent a little known Bhukailash Sporting Club at the working committee.
It is likely that the association would form a new district development committee offering Ganguly the chairmanship's post, Bhukailash SC Secretary Mintu Das said. "It's the first working committee after the AGM. There will be discussions on various development plans like the state of cricket, stadium in the state. It is likely that Ganguly would be given some post," Das said.
But Ganguly has so far denied that he was yet to offer any post from the association.
The stylish southpaw had Dalmiya virtually running for cover when he questioned former India spinner Utpal Chatterjee's unceremonious ouster from Bengal coachs job, even after helping the side move into the elite division.
The prolific speaker had also highlighted Bengals poor representation in the national team in recent times with Manoj Tiwary and Wriddhiman Saha being the only ones to have donned India A caps of late. Many in the CAB termed Ganguly's role a "new beginning" for the state cricket.
