Karachi:
Pakistan Cricket Board legal adviser Tafazzul Rizvi has confirmed plans to send the notice to Younus.
Rizvi said that the move is as per the instructions of the appeal's judge, Justice (retd) Irfan Qadir.
"The judge while removing the indefinite ban on Younus had said that the board should send a show cause to Younus and give him a chance to respond to the charges against him," Rizvi said.
"We will soon be sending the notice and will ask for a reply after which we will decide whether Younus should be cleared to play for Pakistan again," he added.
Younus had his indefinite ban removed by Justice Qadir earlier this month but the board didn't allow the national selectors to pick him for the tour to England with Chairman Ijaz Butt not giving clearance for his selection.
Younus was among seven players whom the board either banned or fined on the recommendations of an inquiry committee that probed into the team's poor performance in Australia earlier in the year.
Younus didn't appear in the Tests but was selected for the one-dayers in Australia.
Justice Qadir lifted the 12-month ban and fine of Rs two million on former captain Shoaib Malik and also removed and halved the fines on Shahid Afridi, Kamran and Umar Akmal.
Rizvi said the appeal's judge was requested to review the bans and fines after the players admitted their fault and apologized to the board Chairman.
"Younus so far has not spoken to the board Chairman about his ban so we will proceed as per the instructions of the appeal's judge," Rizvi said.
Younus is presently in England playing for Surrey and indications are that he will be offered a full season contract by the county.
