Karachi:
Sources said former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq and Moin Khan have been kept very much in the loop over the developments taking place here.
"Inzamam and Moin attended a ICL high level meeting in Dubai earlier this month in which the new changes planned for the ICL tournaments were discussed in detail," the source close to the players said.
He said while it was confirmed that a number of top players from Bangladesh had been signed on, a few new faces from Pakistan were also under consideration.
"As usual, Moin is handling the ICL affairs in Pakistan and the new players would be signed through his sport marketing company," the source said.
The sources say during the Dubai meeting the issue of the Pakistan, Indian and other cricket boards continuing with their domestic cricket ban on ICL players was discussed in detail as was the ICL application with the International Cricket Council to grant the league recognition.
"One thing is sure, this time the ICL is coming out all guns blazing as they know they have to put on a show that is as good as the Indian Premier League to survive in the long run and make some profits," the source said.
"We might well see an increase in teams like the Lahore Badshah to improve the cricket standard and increase people's interest in the league," the source added.
