New Delhi:
He will join the team as a replacement for injured pacer Yasir Arafat, who was diagnosed with a hamstring injury. Having reviewed the medical reports, the technical committee agreed to his replacement in the squad.
Razzaq has been deemed eligible to take part in the tournament having terminated his contract with the ICL and received a sanction from the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) for his involvement in unofficial cricket.
ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat confirmed: "The PCB has advised the ICC it has imposed a sanction on Abdul Razzaq in accordance with the ICC Board resolution."
The nature of that sanction is determined by each ICC Member Board subject to the laws within their own territories.
Razzaq was only recently cleared by the board to represent the national team after he along with Mohammad Yousuf, Imran Nazir and Rana Naved resigned from the ICL.
Incidentally the board had first sent the names of Razzaq, Nazir and Rana Naved in the preliminary list of 30 players for the T20 World Cup in April but then withdraw them the next day.
