End of Delhi cricket row?

New Delhi:

What started as a controversy as a virtual revolt in the Delhi Ranji team now seems to have died out alltogether.

Star Indian opener Virender Sehwag met Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) president Arun Jaitley late on Monday night to try and resolve the issues raised by the senior cricketers.

As per reports, the batsman has been pacified and has decided to stay on in Delhi.

However, Jaitley turned down the cricketer's request for dissolution of the Sports Committee.

Sehwag also wanted more former cricketers on the selection panel and the captain to have more say in selection matters.

DDCA selection committee chairman Chetan Chauhan, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Gautam Gambhir were also present at the meeting.

Chauhan said: "Everything was amicably settled in the last night's meeting and DDCA president Arun Jaitley has said that he would not tolerate any player leaving the Delhi team because of administrative reasons."

Delhi coach Vijay Dahiya told NDTV, "The DDCA issue is being resolved. It is a great boost for the Delhi Ranji team. It is great to have all the international players. The team morale is good and while all eyes were on yesterday's meeting, the issue never affected the players."

On the other hand, contrary to media reports, lanky pacer Ishant Sharma extended his full support to the Delhi team. He said on Tuesday that he never threatened to leave the Delhi team.
