Faf du Plessis has been retained as captain of the South African T20 squad against Pakistan starting on March 1 after AB de Villiers asked not to be considered for the role.

De Villiers will remain ODI captain, meaning the Proteas will have different skippers in all three formats of the game.

Du Plessis was in charge for the 2-1 T20 series victory over New Zealand last month.
