Karachi:
Apparently disappointed at the negative media reports during their unsuccessful tour of Sri Lanka, Pakistan captain Younus Khan on Tuesday refused to talk to the journalists gathered at the Karachi airport awaiting his return home.
"I don't want to make any comments now, we will talk later," said a tired looking Younus as he left the airport. Pakistan for the first time lost the Test and one-day series in Sri Lanka under Younus' captaincy.
Sources close to the Pakistan captain was unhappy with the negative reporting of the media which didn't help the team's cause in Sri Lanka.
"He is not happy at the way the media highlight certain negative issues and turn the players into villains from heroes in just a few days time," said one source close to Younus.
"He believes the media needs to be more responsible in their stories as the reports about differences in the team and match fixing didn't help and upset the players," he added.
Younus is scheduled to appear on a sports channel this week after meeting with Cricket Board Chairman Ejaz Butt.
Younus, the source said, will have a clear talk with Butt on the role of some senior players in the future plans.
"He is also not happy that Butt wants to meet the players individually and separately," the source said, adding "Younus feels that Butt must hold a meeting with all players so that any grievances can be discussed openly".
