Colin Munro Lights Up Caribbean Premier League With Blazing Century
Colin Munro became the first batsman to score a century in the 2016 Caribbean Premier League but it was not enough for Trinbago Knight Riders as they lost to Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Colin Munro lit up the Queen's Park Oval by smashing the first century in the 2016 Caribbean Premier League but it went in vain as his team Trinbago Knight Riders lost to Guyana Amazon Warriors by six wickets on Sunday
Munro, who had scored the second fastest fifty in Twenty20 Internationals off 14 balls against Sri Lanka in Auckland, was the only bright spot in an otherwise poor show by Trinidad Knight Riders.
Guyana Amazon Warriors won the toss and chose to bowl and they immediately had Trinidad in trouble when Brendon McCullum and Hashim Amla fell cheaply. For McCullum, his poor form continued after scoring just 12 and 1 in the previous couple of games.
However, Munro was the anchor around which the Trinidad innings revolved and he shared a 74-run with Darren Bravo. Although the rest of the batsman struggled for runs, Munro notched up his century in the final over off 65 balls as Trinidad Knight Riders ended up on 162/5. The left-handers knock included seven fours and six sixes and it gave something for his team's bowlers to bowl at.
Chasing 163, Guyana started off in steady fashion but Australia's Chris Lynn, who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League, turned the tables in a spectacular display of power-hitting as he blasted 77 off 43 balls, with just one four and eight sixes. The highlight of his knock came in the 16th over when he launched three sixes off Kevon Cooper and his 76-run stand with Jason Mohammed helped Guyana to a six-wicket win with four balls to spare.
With this loss, Trinidad Knight Riders stayed in fourth spot while Guyana Amazon Warriors notched up their second win to go on top of the table in the Caribbean Premier League.
It was a memorable day for Munro though as he became the first overseas player to smash a century in the CPL. His knock was the eighth instance of a batsman scoring a century in this tournament. Chris Gayle is the leading century-getter in the tournament with two centuries for Jamaica Tallawahs
