Melbourne:

West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo's exploits in the World Twenty20 and the second Indian Premier League have fetched him a deal with Cricket Victoria for their upcoming Twenty20 Big Bash campaign.

"Dwayne is a proven performer in all forms of the game particularly in Twenty20 cricket and in addition to strengthening the team, we're confident he'll prove a big draw card," Cricket Victoria Chief Executive Tony Dodemaide said after announcing Bravo's signing here.

The 25 year-old all-rounder has displayed remarkable performances in his 40 matches for the West Indies and the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. The swashbuckling batsman averages 28.65 with the bat at a strike-rate of 127.78, and 24.21 with the ball.

However, the deal would materialise only if West Indies Cricket Board gives the right-hander grenn signal as the competition clashes with West Indies' Test and one-day series against Australia.

Dodemaide also hinted at recruiting another international player for the tournament.

"We're conscious of getting the balance right and feel Cricket Australia's decision to field two overseas stars for the Big Bash makes this objective achievable," he said.
