Bilawal Bhatti will replace Rahat Ali, down with an injury, for the second Test of Pakistan's tour of Bangladesh, it was confirmed on Wednesday (April 29).
A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesperson said that Bhatti, the allrounder, would fly across from Sri Lanka, where is part of the touring Pakistan A team, to Bangladesh in time for the second Test, set to start in Dhaka on May 6.
Pakistan have been plagued with injuries both before and during the tour.
Sohaib Maqsood (arm fracture) and Sohail Khan (back injury) were ruled out even before the tour started. They were joined on the sidelines by Ehsan Adil and Rahat, both with hamstring issues, while Yasir Shah missed the limited-overs leg of the tour with a thumb injury.
On the field, Pakistan suffered a 3-0 whitewash in the One-Day International series their first against Bangladesh, and also lost the only Twenty20 International against Bangladesh, prompting the PCB to call for a review of the frequent injuries and poor performances once the tour finished.
Pakistan and Bangladesh are currently playing the first of two Tests in Khulna, which started on Tuesday.
