Taunton:
New Zealand's Suzie Bates turned in a fine performance with both bat and ball as the White Ferns levelled their one-day series against England Women at 1-1 on Monday.
Bates took three wickets for 27 runs with her medium-pacers late on as the tourists held England to a total of 208 for nine featuring Claire Taylor's 66.
And Bates then made an unbeaten 75 as New Zealand chased down their target with 13 balls to spare.
"We were 20 or 30 runs short with the bat," said disappointed England captain Charlotte Edwards. "We bowled well, but missed too many run-outs, which cost us in the end."
The five-match series continues at the County Ground in Derby on Thursday.
