Australia A recorded a seven-wicket victory in the opening one-day game of its five-match series against England Lions at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart on Saturday.
Openers Shaun Marsh (100 retired hurt) and Aaron Finch (80) were dominant in posting a 172-run opening stand before Australia A reached the victory target of 260 with five balls to spare.
Marsh was forced to retire after suffering an injury to his right knee. He will have scans Sunday to determine the extent of the injury. Tasmania's Alex Doolan will remain with the squad while Marsh's injury is assessed.
Earlier, electing to bat first, England Lions put up a total of 259/6 in their 50 overs with opener Varun Chopra scoring 105 which eventually went in vain.
The next unofficial one-day game will be held in Hobart on Monday.
