This one sits up over middle and leg, Khawaja leans back and looks to pull but miscues it badly off the toe end and straight to KL Rahul in front of mid-wicket. 65.1 OUT! CAUGHT! Wow, would you believe it? A wicket right after the break and Marnus Labuschagne will be kicking himself. Washington Sundar tosses the ball up a bit more and bowls it full and outside off. Labuschagne looks to keep the ante up and steps out trying to go over mid off but the bat turns in his hand and he ends up hitting it just around the head of Kohli at mid off and he makes no mistake. Labuschagne falls for 72 (145) and Australia are now 237/3!  237/3

114.1 OUT! BOWLED! Oh, how unfortunate way to get out for Smith! Akash Deep bowls it on the back of a length and angles it into the batter from outside off. Smith charges way down the track, just doesn't find enough room to slap it to the off side. Gets a thick inside edge, which thuds on his pads and goes onto dribble towards the stumps. The bail comes off a bit late and Smith just cannot believe what happened! But, a fine, fine knock from him and a much-needed one as well. He walks towards the dugout with a great reception from the MCG crowd. He raises his bat and acknowledges the crowd. He departs on a well-compiled 140. Two quick wickets for India coming straight after Lunch in a quick succession.  455/9

66.3 OUT! TIMBER! The move to bring Jasprit Bumrah back in has done wonders and India are right back in it as the wrecker-in-chief, a.k.a Travis Head departs for a duck. Bumrah goes a bit wider on the crease and spears the ball back in on a fullish length from outside off. Head shoulders arms trying to leave it on line and length but the ball just jags back in enough to find the top of off stump and Head cannot believe it. India with the double whammy and Australia are now 240/4!  240/4

69 OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Jasprit Bumrah goes 'boom, boom' now and Australia in a bit of a slump. Bumrah serves the ball on a good length and around the top of off. Mitchell Marsh stays back in the crease and leans to pull it high and handsome over mid-wicket but the length just isn't short enough. The ball finds the cue end of the bat and Rishabh Pant makes no mistake behind the stumps moving to his right. Australia have lost 3 wickets for the last 9 runs and have lost half their side now as well.  246/5

82.1 OUT! EDGED AND CAUGHT BEHIND! Akash Deep deserves this one as he beat the edges on numerous occasions. India has bounced back into the contest and how? Australia 6 men down now. Akash serves the new ball on a good length, which lands, nips away a shy bit, and bounces a bit more off the pitch. The line of attack is around the fourth stump line, and Alex Carey is taken aback by that extra bit of bounce and just hangs his bat in the way. It just does nip enough and goes off the faint outside edge and Rishabh Pant does the rest behind the wickets with a regulation catch.  299/6

104.1 OUT! IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! Cummins falls just one short of his half-century and it is Jadeja who breaks the deadlock of wickets for India! This is pitched too full and on off, Pat Cummins gets his front foot out of his way and tries to clear the cover region. Tries to hit it aerially and inside-out but just doesn't get his bat under the ball properly. Hence, gets no real timing on it and it just sails behind the cover region off the toe-end. Nitish Kumar Reddy stationed at the cover region scoots to his left and puts in a slide to take a fine catch in the end.  411/7

113.3 OUT! STRAIGHT THROUGH HIS DEFENCE! Jadeja strikes right after the Lunch break and gets another one. Australia are 8 wickets down now! Stays around the wickets does Jadeja, and bowls a fuller-length delivery which goes across the middle pole and angles on the off-stump line. Mitchell Starc gets a good stride out and looks to block it out in front but plays inside the line of the ball as he expects it to turn into him. Instead, it just zips past the outside edge and goes straight on to crash into the stumps. A nice handy contribution from Starc comes to an end. Jadeja with three wickets now.  455/8

122.4 OUT! LBW! Another confident appeal for LBW and once again, the finger goes up! Lyon reviews it straightaway but starts to walk back to the dugout. He then waits for the decision to be made. Bumrah bowls it on a good length, and slants it into the batter. It skids through very quickly and hurries the batter into the shot. Nathan Lyon hops on the back foot and looks to work it across into the leg side but plays all over it. The ball passes very close to the bat and pings his pad. Nothing on UltraEdge. Now, interestingly, the Ball Tracking shows the ball hitting the top of the middle on the umpire's call. Luck with Bumrah as the umpire gives it out. He gets his fourth wicket. Lyon gets his marching orders and Australia are all out on a mammoth total of 474.  474/10

41 OUT! RUN OUT! Dear, oh dear! A terrible, terrible mix-up between the batters and Jaiswal has to walk back to the pavilion. Boland bowls it full and attacks the stumps, Yashasvi Jaiswal gets on the front foot and flicks it straight to mid on. Jaiswal is eager for the run and seeing Virat Kohli take a few steps ahead, Jaiswal rushes towards the other end, but Kohli turns around and is ball-watching and not seeing his partner. Cummins on the other hand, picks and throws at the striker's end. Meanwhile, Jaiswal is almost at the non-striker's end and has no time at all to retreat back and finds himself stranded. Carey collects the ball and runs towards the wickets and dislodges the bails. Yashasvi Jaiswal departs on 82 and India lose their third wicket at a very crucial time.  153/3

2 OUT! IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! Cummins strikes early for Australia and the captain dismisses the opposition captain! Cummins bashes the hard length, on the top of the sticks. It jags back in a touch with an extra bit of bounce. Rohit couldn't resist himself from playing at it and got in a bit of a tangle. Top-edges it and the ball lobs over mid-wicket where Scott Boland takes a comfortable catch running to his right. Rohit Sharma who promoted himself up top, doesn't much trouble the scorers and his lean run with the bat continues. India are struck early.  8/1

15 OUT! TIMBER! That is an absolute ripper of a delivery from Pat Cummins and he picks up a huge wicket on the stroke of Tea! Cummins changes the length and pitches the ball up off and middle, getting the ball to deviate away from the right-hander. KL Rahul doesn't get completely forward but looks to drive with a straight bat and is just completely undone as the ball nips past the outside edge and smashes into the off pole. Rahul departs for 24 (42) and that will be TEA ON DAY 2!  51/2

42.1 OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Back-to-back blows for India and Kohli's vulnerability comes back to haunt him again! Boland bashes the hard length, invites the batter on the front foot, and keeps the line of attack on the fourth and fifth stump line. It lands and gets a bit of an extra bounce off the deck, also slightly nibbling away from the batter. Virat Kohli couldn't resist poking at it and goes for a defensive push, but he ends up playing inside the line of the ball. A faint outside edge is found and the keeper, Alex Carey does the rest behind the stumps. Virat Kohli departs on 36 and India has now lost both set batters in the span of just a few deliveries and Australia has made a roaring strikeback.  154/4

44.3 OUT! INSIDE EDGE AND TAKEN! Boland does it again and things are now going scaringly wrong for India as they are half side down. Brilliant tactics and execution from Boland as he bangs it hard into the surface, coming from around the wickets. It skids and hurries the batter into the shot with the line of attack on the middle stump. Akash Deep is caught searching for room and just brings his bat in front to negotiate it. Plays over the line and gets a thick inside edge which thuds onto his pads. It then lobs off the thigh pad and goes towards the leg gully. Nathan Lyon dives forward and takes a good sharp catch, just above the grass.  159/5

55.4 OUT! CAUGHT! Another brain fade moment from India and in the quest to break the shackles, Rishabh Pant has thrown his wicket away. Scott Boland switches to around the wicket and bowls it full and outside off, Pant walks across the off stump and attempts the lap as he falls down yet again and the ball gets skewed up high towards deep third. Nathan Lyon is placed fine over there and the ball travels straight to him and he makes no error. Pant departs for 28 (37) and India now 191/6, trailing by 283 runs.  191/6

64.5 OUT! LBW! A loud confident appeal for LBW and the umpire raises the finger. Nathan Lyon wins the battle here! However, Jadeja has reviewed it. But it looks pretty much straight on! Lyon stays around the stumps and dishes out on a flatter trajectory. It lands on a good length and skids through very quickly. Ravindra Jadeja is hurried with the pace and also finds himself cramped up for room. He tries to take his front foot out of the way to work it across the line but plays all over it, and wears it on the front pad. No bat is involved on the UltraEdge and the Ball Tracking shows that it is the umpire's call as the ball is clipping the top of the pegs. A little resistant knock from Jadeja comes to an end. India in all sorts of trouble now with 7 men down, still trailing by 253 runs. India needs 54 runs to avoid the follow-on.  221/7

119.3 OUT! IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! Probably the first ball Nitish mistimes and perishes! With this, India's innings come to a close! Lyon drops it full and provides a bit of a loop on it. Drifts it outside off and Nitish Kumar Reddy gets lured in the flight. He charges down the track and tries to clear the long off fence. But he tries to hit it too hard and loses his shape. Hence, gets no real timing and distance on it. The ball sails only as far as toward the long off fielder where Mitchell Starc takes a simple catch. Nitish Kumar Reddy departs on 114 and India are all out on 369, with a deficit of 105 runs.  369/10

112 OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Nathan Lyon finally shows his class and breaks this record-breaking stand. Lyonn puts more energy into the ball and tosses it up on a nagging length around off, getting some good dip on it as well. Washington Sundar is drawn forward and looks to fend with soft hands but the extra bounce does him in. The ball takes the handle of the bat and goes quickly to Steven Smith at first slip. Smith brings out the 'crocodile clutch' and snatches it. Sundar departs after a valuable knock and India are now 8 down.  348/8

113.3 OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Absolute drama at the MCG with Nitish Kumar Reddy stranded at 99 on the other end! Cummins arrives and strikes! The captain leading from the front for Australia with the ball. A picture-perfect delivery from Cummins as he steams in from over the stumps. He lands it around off and the ball keeps nibbling away from the good length after pitching. Jasprit Bumrah with barely any footwork, just hangs his bat away from the body. Hence, a healthy outside edge is found which flies straight towards the second slip. Usman Khawaja there makes no mistake and India are 9 wickets down now.  350/9

6.3 OUT! BOWLED'EM! Knocks him over through the defence! Bumrah gets the reward and provides the breakthrough for India! Jasprit Bumrah stays over the wickets and spears it on a fractionally fuller length, on off. It kisses the deck and just darts back into the batter off the surface, cutting the batter in half. Sam Konstas is forced on the front foot and goes for a defensive push but plays over the wrong line. The ball sneaks through the gap between the bat and the pad and rattles the top of the middle pole. A peach of a delivery from Bumrah to get rid of Sam Konstas and Australia lose their first wicket. 20/1 as Konstas departs on 8 (18).  20/1

18.5 OUT! TIMBER! Mohammed Siraj finally gets his first wicket of the game and Usman Khawaja has let all the hard work go to waste. Full and straight from over the stumps, just a hint of shape back in but slides right on eventually. Khawaja's feet get stuck on the crease as he tries to get forward and drive. He goes through the shot but just pushes hard at it and loses the grip of his bottom hand, and is beaten past bat and pad as the ball knocks over the top of off and middle. Khawaja departs for 21 (65) and Australia are 43/2, leading by 148 runs.  43/2

55.1 OUT! LBW! A loud confident appeal in unison from the Indians and up goes the finger. Siraj is over the moon and so are the Indian players. But Marnus Labuschagne probably believes that the height might save him and has sent it upstairs to review it. Siraj fires it in, on a good length, it is that nip-backer that jags back in a long way from outside off. Marnus Labuschagne tries to get behind the line and squares up a bit to negotiate it but plays all over the wrong line. The ball stays a tad bit low on the bounce and sneaks through close to the inside edge and thuds on the thigh pad. Ball Tracking comes and confirms that the ball is hitting the top of the sticks on the umpire's call. Marnus Labuschagne will have to depart and a welcome bowling change for India as Siraj strikes for the third time in this innings. 32.3 OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Caught behind! Quite uncharacteristic from Steven Smith and Siraj gets his second wicket! Mohammed Siraj stays over the stumps and fires it in, very full, almost a yorker outside off. Steven Smith stays rooted in the crease and does not quite commit on the front foot. He throws the kitchen-sink at it to drive it through cover-point but only manages it to nick it behind off the thick healthy outside edge. The ball flies flat and straight into the mitts of Rishabh Pant who takes a regulation grab behind the stumps. A patient knock from Steven Smith as he departs on 13 off 41. 33.2 OUT! TAKEN! Another failure for Travis Head in this Boxing Day Test and a brilliant change in bowling from India. Bumrah comes and Bumrah strikes. How do you keep this man away from action? Coming to the delivery, Bumrah bangs it in hard on the surface, on the middle and leg stump line. It skids and rises a bit off the deck and hurries the southpaw into the shot. Travis Head is cramped up for room and hops on the back foot to nurdle it across the leg side. But ends up chipping it straight towards Nitish Kumar Reddy stationed at square leg. Suddenly, Australia has slipped from 80/2 to 85/4. Also, Bumrah brings up the 200th wicket of his Test career!  85/4

34 OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! NUMBER 3 FOR BUMRAH! India is suddenly into the driver's seat now with Bumrah dictating terms with his immaculate bowling! Australia in a serious spot of bother now as the 'Bison' walks back to the dugout on a duck. A string of failures for Mitchell Marsh in this BGT series! Coming to the delivery, Bumrah keeps the line of attack around off, and gets a bit of an extra bounce and it keeps nibbling away from the right-hander. Mitchell Marsh is squared up and hangs his bat away from the body. It goes off the handle of the bat and Rishabh Pant takes another grab behind the stumps. He has produced a garland of unplayable rippers and has dented through the Australian middle order. Bumrah charges in from around the stumps and spears it in at a searing pace. Alex Carey tries to force the shot on the back foot but the ball does enough and jags back in a touch to beat the inside edge of Carey's willow, and crashes into the stumps. Carey departs on 2. 64.1 OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! A sharp low catch by Rohit Sharma at first slip but Pat Cummins will feel he could have left that one alone. Ravindra Jadeja comes back into the attack and floats it up, slower than usual, not all that full and around off, Cummins presses halfway forward and just has a poke at it and ends up hurdling it into the mitts of the opposition skipper. End of a fighting knock from the Aussie skipper, Cummins departs on 41 (90) and Australia now 9 down with a lead of 278 runs.  173/9

58.1 OUT! RUN OUT! A huge mix-up between the batters and it costs Australia another wicket here! Bumrah comes from around the wicket and bowls it on the back of a length, around middle and leg. Mitchell Starc tucks it behind square and runs for a single as the ball goes to deep square leg. He senses an opportunity and rushes back for the second run but Cummins isn't interested. He is more ball-watching instead of seeing his partner. He later sees Starc charging and sends his partner back, but Starc is already more than halfway through. Starc has to obey as he retreats by turning around and runs at full tilt to get to the other end. Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar Reddy in the deep throws it towards Rishabh Pant. He runs forward and grabs the ball bending low, and sees Starc struggling to get to the non-striker's end. He shows a good presence of mind and fires a flat throw and scores a direct hit at the bowler's end. Replays show that Starc is just marginally out of the crease. Australia are 8 down now.  156/8

83.4 OUT! KNOCKED HIM OVER! BUMRAH ENDS UP WITH A FIVE-WICKET HAUL! Gives a bit of a stare to the batter and Australia are all out now! Bumrah spears it in on a fullish bit of length, around off. It lands, skids and jags back in very sharply into the batter. Nathan Lyon commits on the front foot and tries to drive it straight but plays over the wrong line. It creates a gap between the bat and pad and the ball just finds its way to sneak through that gap and crashes into the sticks.  234/10

70.5 OUT STRANGLED DOWN THE LEG! Jaiswal is gone after making 84! He again has missed out on a well-deserved hundred in this inning too but more importantly, India are now 7 down and have their best batter out now. An appeal for the caught behind but the umpire has shaked his head! Pat Cummins has gone upstairs instantly! Short of a length, down the leg, the ball climbs onto the batter, Yashasvi Jaiswal goes for a hook shot and there is a deflection around the gloves as the ball goes to the keeper. Alex Carey dives low to his right and takes it with both hands. UltraEdge shows that there is no deflection but the umpire is convinced enough from the actual replays to change the decision to out. India is clearly lagging behind and Australians are pumped up with this wicket as they are smelling a victory here with this big wicket. Will India be able to draw this match?  140/7

16.1 OUT! CAUGHT! A sharp catch from Mitchell Marsh at third slip and Pat Cummins gets the big breakthrough for Australia, sending his opposite number back to the hut. On a nagging length, angled into off and then leaving the right-hander off the deck. Rohit Sharma gets carried away a bit and just looks to heave across the line, ends up skewing it off the outside edge and the ball travels quickly around head height to third slip. Cummins serves this one on a hard length, angling it in around the top of off but gets the ball to skid through and straighten off the deck. KL Rahul is tentative and is late on the block, playing at it with hard hands too. The ball takes the outer edge of the bat and goes down to the right of the first slip where Usman Khawaja now takes a good low catch. 26.1 OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Virat Kohli will be livid with himself but Mitchell Starc gets his due and India lose another big wicket. Starc dishes out a full and wide one, bowling it almost in the blockhole outside off and this one slides right across the right-hander. Virat Kohli goes chasing after it and looks to drive but gets an outside edge that goes quickly and down to the left of first slip where Usman Khawaja hangs on to yet another sharp and low catch. Kohli departs cheaply and India are 33/3 at the stroke of LUNCH ON DAY 5!  33/3

58.4 OUT! GONE! CAUGHT! Pant can't hold onto much after Tea and departs after making 30! The ploy of Cummins to bowl a part-timer in Head has paid off for them as they have broken this partnership! Slightly short, just outside off, turning away, from around the wicket. Rishabh Pant goes back in the crease and lofts the pull shot to deep mid-wicket. He doesn't time it well as it doesn't come off the middle of the bat. Mitchell Marsh runs into his left and takes this with both hands comfortably. India are 121/4 now.  121/4

62.2 OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! BOLAND STRIKES! India is crumbling after Tea as they have lost two wickets in just half an hour! Scott Boland bangs in short, around off, from around the wicket, angling in, then straightens off the deck with an extra bounce. Ravindra Jadeja gets surprised by the bounce and he wants to defend it off the back foot with the full face of the bat. But only manages to get a faint outside edge that flies to the keeper where Alex Carey takes to his right with both hands at chest height. Jadeja is gone at a score of just 2 and India is 127/5. 63.2 OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! A hundred in the first inning and just a solitary run for Nitish in the second! Australia are smelling blood in the water now as 'Garry' strikes gold! Lyon maintains his line and length. This is drifted fuller and around off. It lands and goes straight on rather than turning in. Nitish Kumar Reddy anticipates the ball to turn and plays inside the line. Edges it which goes flat and low to the left of the first slip. 76.1 OUT! CAUGHT! A half-hearted appeal for a catch again but the umpire shakes his head. Pat Cummins does review it and Australia feel they have got another wicket here. Scott Boland comes back into the attack and serves it on a good length around middle, getting the ball to jag back in off the deck. Akash Deep is a bit back looking to flick it away but the ball beats the inside edge and thuds into the pads before lobbing up straight to Travis Head at forward short leg. 78.3 OUT! CAUGHT! Steven Smith with a fine take at first slip and Australia can now see the finish line. Scott Boland and the MCG, what a love affair this is! Just back of a length on off, nibbling away off the deck. Jasprit Bumrah looks to lean on a bit and pushes at it but the ball takes the outside edge and goes down in front of the first slip but Smith is alive to the situation and dives forward to just pouch it above the ground. The replays confirm the same and India now hanging on for dear life.  154/9

79.1 OUT! LBW! It's all over, Australia have completed the comeback in front of a record crowd at the MCG and what a Test we have witnessed here, one for the ages. Nathan Lyon skips in from over the wicket and flattens it up, angling it in from a shorter length and outside off, darting back in a long way. Mohammed Siraj gets a stride well across the line of off and looks to block with a straight bat but the ball comes in and stays low, beating the bat and going on to hit the pads right in front. There's a loud appeal and the finger goes up but it is reviewed.
