London:
Former England spinner Ashley Giles, now a director of cricket at Warwickshire, welcomed new recruit S Sreesanth and hoped the spunky Indian pacer would add firepower to the bowling unit of the team.
"It is great to have Sree here for the rest of the season," Giles said.
"We have some very important matches coming up and he will be a great boost to our bowling attack. He has international experience which is a great asset and I am sure he will fit into the dressing room well," Giles added.
The club hopes that Sreesanth's registration papers would be completed soon so that he can make his debut in the NatWest Pro40 match against the Leicestershire Foxes later on Sunday.
Sreesanth is already looking to work under his idol Allan Donald who is the Warwickshire bowling coach.
Struggling with a back injury, Sreesanth was left out of the Indian team for the Twenty20 World Cup and the speedster did not find a place in the Champions Trophy squad either.
Sreesanth played last of his 41 ODIs in March 2008 at Brisbane against Australia.
