2014 Commonwealth Games: 'Australian Athlete' Facing Assault Charge, Says Report
The man was arrested by police on Wednesday following an early-morning disturbance at the site in Dalmarnock in the city's east end.

"A 29-year-old man has been arrested and is presently detained in police custody in connection with an alleged assault following an altercation within the athletes' village in Glasgow on Wednesday," said a spokesman from Police Scotland. (Indian stars reach round of 16 in badminton)
According to a report in Australian newspaper the Sydney Morning Herald, the man is accused of assaulting a Welsh athlete. A spokesman from Team Wales confirmed that it was helping police with their investigation. (Boxers guarantee more medals for India)
"We're aware of an incident that occurred overnight involving a member of Team Wales and we're currently working with Police Scotland to assist them with their inquiries," he told the newspaper.
"Whilst the facts around the matter are being established, it would be wrong for us to comment any further."
The 35-hectare athletes' village hosts around 4,500 competitors and 2,300 support staff.
Costing 230 million pounds (389 million dollars, 291 million euros) to build, it features 700 houses as well as shops, a pub, a post office, a beauty salon, and a mini-hospital.
