West Indies spinner Sunil Narine was reported for suspect action during Kolkata Knight Riders' Champions League Twenty20 match against Dolphins on Monday. According to a report in ESPNCricinfo, the 26-year-old was reported by the on-field umpires during the course of his team's 36-run win in Hyderabad.
The report says that umpires Anil Chaudhary, Chettihody Shamshuddin and third umpire Kumar Dharmasena reported the bowler who, as per Champions League Twenty20 guidelines, can seek an official assessment.
Narine has been the main force in Kolkata's bowling arsenal and he added three more wickets to his overall tally (11 from four games) on Monday. While he was a bit more expensive than usual in the match - going at a little over 8 an over from his four, the latest charge may come as a setback to his side. Kolkata are on a high after registering their 13th win on the trot. (Also read: Mohammad Hafeez reported for chucking)
Narine will have to play a crucial role in helping Kolkata succeed and is on the 'warning list' currently. If he is reported once again during the course of Champions League Twenty20 2014, he will be suspended from bowling in the remainder of the tournament.
