India are under pressure now to reach the final of the tri-series after losing the Gabba ODI to England by nine wickets. (Scorecard)
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is not pleased with his batsmen after being shot out for 153. "We lose wickets when we accelerate. The batsmen are finding it tough here. We need to rotate the strike when the bowling is good but we haven't done that. It's a long tour, so we need to switch on and off. Time in the hotel is important too."
2:25 PM IST: England WIN BY NINE WICKETS! This has been a complete annihilation for India. Bell finishes not out on 88 and Taylor remained unbeaten on 56. Binny has been the best player for India in the match - not sure if that is any consolation. The familiar problem against pace persists and there will be plenty of it during the World Cup.
2:23 PM IST: The end is near for India. England are three runs away from a comprehensive win. Utter humiliation for the world champions.
2:06 PM IST: India are staring at certain defeat with England now needing 20 runs to win this one. Ian Bell has played like a true champion after getting a duck against Australia in the first ODI.
1:49 PM IST: India have been dismal and England clinical at the Gabba. There has been no fighting spirit from the world champions - the bowlers have not cared to try anything different and the captain has been devoid of any ideas. Bell has brought up a well-deserved fifty and the English are comfortably on their way to victory.

1:30 PM IST: This has been solid batting by Bell and Taylor. The Indian bowlers have been clueless and moreover they do not have a big total to defend. MS Dhoni is at a complete loss. England 81/1 off 15 overs.
1:18 PM IST: England are looking as comfortable now as they did before the break. Ian Bell is approaching a fifty while James Taylor in pursuit of 154 vs India.
12:27 PM IST: There will be a 30-minute break now as both teams head off the field. England are 41/1 in pursuit of 154 and they will be targeting an easy bonus point here. Poor cricket by the Indians today.
12:08 PM IST: WICKET! Binny strikes in his second over to remove Moeen Ali. What a match he is having. First he top scores with 44 and then returns to snare one of England's most dangerous batsmen. England 25/1 off three overs chasing 154
11:55 AM IST: England openers Moeen Ali and Ian Bell are already in the middle to start the chase. Stuart Binny has the new ball. Can Binny carry on his batting confidence and take some early wickets for India?

11:51 AM IST: This has been another appalling Indian performance by India's batsmen against pace. James Anderson, India's nemesis at England, continues to haunt them in Australia. This time he has been joined by Steve Finn, who picked five wickets
11:45 AM IST: WICKET! Anderson takes his fourth wicket and India have been blown out for 153 against England. This has been a horrible performance by the world champions. After electing to bat, Dhoni must be gutted with his batsmen for a show like this.
11:42 AM IST: WICKET! Anderson gets his third and that's the end of a fine knock by Binny. He's out for 44.

11:37 AM IST: Stuart Binny is proving all his detractors wrong and how. On a day when all the star batsmen flopped, the Karnataka all-rounder has stood tall playing some lovely shots along the way. His harsh treatment of Ali has been an eye-opener for the rest of the Indian team.
11:35 AM IST: In other cricket updates, New Zealand have taken a 2-1 lead in the 7-match series after defeating Sri Lanka by four wickets. Kane Williamson's 103 helped the Black Caps chase down 277 vs the visitors in the fourth ODI
11:32 AM IST: WICKET! Another one gone as James Anderson gets back into the attack. Kumar had absolutely no clue about that Anderson delivery and India are tottering now at 143/8 in the 38th over. This is sheer disaster for the world champs
11:30 AM IST: Meanwhile, Steven Smith will lead Australia in Friday's Tri-Series tie vs England in Hobart. Smith replaces George Bailey, who has been suspended for one match for maintaining a slow over rate vs India at the MCG
11:25 AM IST: Steven Finn again. Just when India looked like they were headed for a competitive total, Finn got back to break the back of their batting. He first removed Dhoni and then bowled a peach to Patel. Two off two. The world champs in disarray at 137/7 in the 37th over
11:09 AM IST: SIX! Great footwork by Binny. He's growing in confidence gradually and that is a danger sign for England. Dhoni had wanted a stronger batsman at number 7 so he could explode later in the innings. India are headed just there. Some runs on the board and enough wickets in the end could be the ideal platform for Dhoni to launch into the English.
11:05 AM IST: This has been a spirited fightback by India. They had earlier lost four wickets for 10 runs and the big names like Rahane, Kohli and Raina were cooling their heels in the dressing-room. That is when Dhoni and Binny got together to stitch a valuable stand. This has been admirable batting by Binny, who is making a comeback into the Indian side. India 128/5 in the 34th over

10.18 (IST): Steven Finn strikes again! He gets his third scalp. Rayudu is gone, caught behind by Buttler for 23. India 67/5 (19 overs)
10.09 (IST): Another wicket! Moeen Ali comes into the attack and removes Suresh Raina! Raina came down the track but was beaten by the extra bounce. Buttler completed a simple stumping. India 65/4 (17.2 overs)
10.05 (IST): OUT! Big, big wicket! Steve Finn sends back Virat Kohli for just four. India 64/3 (16.4 overs)
09.52 (IST): Rahane is gone! He charges down against Finn but doesn't get hold of his shot. He is caught by James Taylor for 33. India 57/2 (14.3 overs)
09.44 (IST): FOUR! Rayudu steps down the track and hits Finn through covers. Fifty up for India. It also brings up the fifty-run stand. India 52/1 (12.5 overs)
09.30 (IST): SIX! Ajinkya Rahane breaks the shackles! Stuart Broad bowls a short ball and Rahane makes full use of it, hitting over deep mid-wicket fence. India 32/1 (9.3 overs)

09.09 (IST): India in all sorts of bother at the moment. They've lost an early wicket and have just eight runs on the board after five overs. But here's something that should cheer up the Indian fans.
12 - India have won 12 of their last 15 completed ODIs against England. Formula.

09.00 (IST): Shikhar Dhawan is gone! The Indian opener's batting woes continue. Anderson angles one away from the left-hander and Dhawan can't keep his bat away. An outside edge carries to wicketkeeper Jos Buttler. India 1/1 (2.1 overs)
08.55 (IST): James Anderson, returning in place of Chris Jordan, starts with an excellent line and length. Rahane is happy to play it out without a run. India 0/0 (1 over)
08.49 (IST): Ajinkya Rahane walks out to open the batting with Shikhar Dhawan for India. Will be interesting to see how he goes at a batting spot that is pretty familiar to the Mumbai batsman.
08.27 (IST): India win toss, opt to bat vs England. BIG NEWS is that Rohit Sharma misses out due to a hamstring injury. In comes Ambati Rayudu. Stuart Binny replaces Ravichandran Ashwin. For England, James Anderson returns in place of Chris Jordan.
08.16 (IST): The England players are out, practicing ahead of the toss. A cracking match on the cards at the Gabba.

While England lost the first match of the tournament by three wickets, India gave a solid fight to the Aussie but eventually lost by four wickets. In a series where each team plays an opposition twice, points are of essence and a strong performance will auger well ahead of the World Cup.
Team India is a firm favourite to win the World Cup next month. The side showed good fighting spirit in their first match and Rohit Sharma emerged as a hero with a knock of 138. It was a crucial innings which steadied the side after early wickets. He got good support from Suresh Raina who, after a horrible Test series, struck a half-century. The knocks helped India post 267 - a total that was decent but not daunting.
The bowlers tested the Aussies - Aaron Finch (96), Shane Watson (41), Steve Smith (47) getting starts but falling at key stages. The hosts won the match only with a solitary over to spare. More than the narrow defeat, India would be hurting from the loss of Mohammad Shami who strained his hamstring in the match. Will Dhawal Kulkarni get a match or will India play Mohit Sharma against England? In that choice will be India's abilities to exploit a fast Gabba pitch.
During the Test between the two sides here last month, Australia won after India collapsed in their second innings. Pacers Mitchell Johnson claimed four wickets in that innings, showing just how much talented bowlers can excel here. The same can be true in the ODI as well. Past ODI records here, however, do not favour the men in blue.
India in ODIs at Brisbane:
Played: 14
Won: 4
Lost: 8
N/R: 2
Indian fans can find solace in the fact that the team enjoys a good record against England at neutral venues. The team has won six of eight matches when none between the two is the host nation.
India vs England in ODIs (overall):
Total: 91
India: 50
England: 36 (tied 2; n/r 3)
To underestimate England though would be a gross mistake. The team is under Eoin Morgan and he is in excellent form. He hit 121 against the Aussie in the first match of the series and is looking to lead the batting line-up once again. If the top-order fires and Morgan backs it up, the team can mount a formidable total.
All eyes would be on Chris Woakes in the bowling department. He claimed four wickets against Australia and with the support of an experienced Stuart Broad, can be deadly at Brisbane.
The team may have lost four of their last five ODI matches but continue to have the potential to right the records.
