VVS Laxman was full of praise for Sachin Tendulkar, who on Tuesday completed 22 years in international cricket, saying it was an honour and privilege to play alongside the champion batsman.
"For me personally, it's a great honour and privilege to play alongside Sachin," Laxman said after stroking his way to an unbeaten 176 on day two of the second Test against the West Indies at the Eden Gardens.
22 years ago, on this day in Karachi, Tendulkar made his Test debut against Pakistan.
While congratulating Tendulkar on reaching yet another landmark, Laxman said, "It's a great achievement. I am sure he will cross more and more years for the country. Everyone knows what a legend he has been for the country.
"Words cannot describe what he has contributed to the Indian and world cricket."
