Wozniacki, who reached last year's U.S. Open final, won the seven first games but lost her serve in the third game of the second set. The 19-year-old Dane broke back immediately and went on to close out the match with a winning serve.
Wozniacki, whose best results at Roland Garros were third-round appearances over the past two years, retired with an injured ankle in the Warsaw Open quarterfinals last week.
She played her 125th match of the season against Kudryavtseva, the most among all tour players.
