Venus Williams has been on a meteoric rise since making her comeback from an injury earlier this year. After claiming the Wimbledon doubles title with sister Serena, she has made a steady start to her Olympics singles campaign as well.
On Tuesday, she went past Canada's Aleksandra Wozniak in straight sets but it was not the margin as much as her determination to win which came through for all to see.
Venus has been very focused on regaining her form since making a comeback but it has not been all about personal gains for this American. She has also been seen cheering for Serena with US First Lady Michelle Obama.
While Serena too has been marching ahead, it would be interesting to see if the two sisters' path collide in the ongoing Olympic Games.
