US Open boosts prize money payout
The US Open base purse will jump USD one million this year to USD 20.6 million with up to USD 2.6 million more in bonus money available.

US Open men's and women's singles champions will each receive USD 1.5 million, a record, with the chance at up to USD one million more in bonus money based upon performance in a series of US Open tuneup events, they said yesterday.
Swiss world number one Roger Federer claimed the largest payoff in tennis history, USD 2.4 million, for taking last year's US Open crown after winning the most points from tuneup events across North America starting next week.
An extra USD 1.2 million in bonus money was paid last year, bringing the 2007 total payout to players to USD 20.8 million.
