Hyderabad:
Adding one more feather to her cap, Sania Mirza upset top seed Irina Boulykina of Russia to win the $10,000 ITF women's title at Wrexham, England.
Trailing by a set, Sania bounced back superbly to defeat Boulykina (world No. 238) 1-6 6-4 6-1 in the final to win her eighth professional title and third this year, according to information received.
Playing under gusty wind conditions, Sania misjudged the speed and was taken aback by the crosscourt shots of the Russian in the first set.
After trailing 1-4 in the second set, Sania made a remarkable comeback keeping her cool and methodically demolished the Russian's attack to pick up points the hard way to win the set 6-4.
The decider was packed with punch and power as Sania easily cruised her way to win the third set and match.
Sania, who earlier this year won in USA and Italy, is likely to get two bonus points for defeating a player ranked inside 250. (PTI)
