New Delhi :
Newly-wed Sania Mirza will return to competitive tennis at a WTA event starting on June 7 in Birmingham after a more than three-month gap during which she got married to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik.
"For everyone asking my next tournament is in Birmingham, followed by Wimbledon next month," Sania wrote on her twitter page.
Sania last played competitive tennis in February when she lost the first round of a Dubai event to Spaniard Medina Garrigues.
She withdrew from the Indian Wells event in March due to her recurring wrist injury and has not played since then.
The Indian tennis star got married to Malik on April 12 and started practicing a fews days back.
Sania has had very ordinary year so far as in the five tournaments she played this year, only once making the second round.
Sania also dismissed reports that she was promoting a 'guthkha' brand in Pakistan.
"I have clarified earlier but I am saying it again that I am not endorsing or associated with any guthkha brand. It's false and mischief created by someone..I hope this sets the record clear once and for all," she said.
