Karan Rastogi has lost in the first round of qualifying matches for the ABN Amro world tennis tournament in Rotterdam. The 18-year-old lost 4-6, 2-6 to Bjorn Phau of Germany. Rastogi was among the three wildcards for the qualifying tournament. He was awarded the spot by tournament director Richard Krajicek when he won the ABN Amro tennis challenge in Mumbai last year. Rastogi is a junior doubles semi-finalist from last year's Australian Open and this is his first year on the senior ATP tour. Of the 16 qualifiers in Rotterdam, only four will make it to the main draw.
