Peer defeats Bondarenko
Third-seeded Shahar Peer of Israel defeated No 8 Alona Bondarenko of Ukraine 7-5, 6-0 to reach the semifinals of the Prague Open on Friday.

Third-seeded Shahar Peer of Israel defeated No 8 Alona Bondarenko of Ukraine 7-5, 6-0 to reach the semifinals of the Prague Open on Friday.
This was Peer's third straight victory following a month's absence due to a foot injury.
Peer, the highest remaining seed in the $145,000 outdoor clay event, will now face Estonia's Kaia Kanepi.
Kanepi rallied after being swept in the second set to defeat sixth-seeded Maria Elena Camerin of Italy 7-5, 0-6, 7-5.
It was the second upset of a seeded player in three matches for the 84th-ranked Kanepi, who defeated No 1 Marion Bartoli of France in the first round.
Fifth-seeded Australian Samantha Stosur and No. 7 Peng Shuai of China also advanced and will face off in the other semifinal.
Stosur defeated fourth-seeded Emilie Loit of France 6-4, 6-3, while Peng beat Slovakian wild card Magdalena Rybarikova 7-5, 6-4. (AP)
