World number one Novak Djokovic was on Wednesday unveiled as the new ambassador for Japanese clothing firm Uniqlo, whose sportswear he will wear at the French Open this weekend.
Djokovic, who has been under contract with the Italian firm Sergio Tacchini, showed off his new kit to the media at a Paris hotel. No indication was given as to the size of the contract.
Fast Retailing, the parent company of Uniqlo, anticipates selling the clothing line at its high street stores, the company's head, Tadashi Yanai, said.
An off-court range endorsed by the player has also been developed using designer Naoki Takizawa, who has previously worked for Issey Miyake.
The company said it also plans a t-shirt line, profits from which will go towards supporting Djokovic's charitable foundation.
