Top-seeded Nicolas Massu of Chile beat Michael Berrer of Germany 7-6 (4), 6-0 on Tuesday in the first round of the Grand Prix Hassan II.
Second-seeded Luis Horna of Peru and third-seeded Christophe Rochus also had straight-set wins.
Horna beat Tomislav Peric of Croatia 7-5, 6-2 and will next meet French qualifier Marc Gicquel, who defeated Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia-Montenegro 6-4, 6-1.
Belgium's Rochus beat Tomas Behrend of Germany 6-3, 6-4 and will now play Florian Mayer, who downed Algeria's Lamine Ouahab 6-1, 7-6 (5).
Eighth-seeded Gilles Simon topped the Czech Republic's Jan Hernych 6-1, 4-6, 6-4. The Frenchman now plays Moroccan wild-card Mehdi Tahiri, who beat Oliver Marach of Austria 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (2).
Seventh-seeded Daniele Bracciali of Italy beat Olivier Patience of France 6-3, 6-4.
