Russia's Elena Dementieva caused the third upset in the women's singles quarterfinals of the French Open when she beat Amelie Mauresmo.

Paris: Russia's Elena Dementieva today caused the third upset in the women's singles quarterfinals of the French Open. Dementieva put on a splendid show to dash French hopes as she beat Amelie Mauresmo in straight sets. Dementieva won 6-4 6-3 to reach the French Open semi-finals for the first time. Argentina's Paola Suarez, who beat Maria Sharapova for a semifinal berth, will now play Dementieva for a place in the finals.
