Chennai:

India's Prakash Amritraj and Rohan Bopanna have advanced to Chennai Open doubles finals. The Indian wild cards scored an upset win over second seeded Rainer Schuettler and Alexander Waske, although with many twists and turns. Saving four match points the Indians made the Germans surrender meekly and the new tie breaker rules certainly worked to their advantage. Nail biting finish For the defending Champion Carlos Moya, it was a nail biting finish. In the final set, he came back struggling from the jaws of defeat to clinch a 6-4, 6-7, 7-6 victory against Radek Stepanek, offering some great tennis action. "I was very close to losing a game. But I guess there must be something in Chennai that makes me play best when I am in such difficult situation. I am very happy," Moya said. While the final day's events will certainly offer an exciting sport, tennis lovers across the country will be hoping that Prakash and Bopanna will join former champions Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi who have won a record three times here.
