Top-seeded Marion Bartoli of France advanced to the quarterfinals of the Prague Open on Wednesday, beating Viktoriya Kutuzova of Ukraine 6-3, 6-4.
Bartoli next will face Jarmila Gajdosova of Slovakia, who defeated Germany's Sandra Kloesel 6-0, 6-4.
Two other seeds were eliminated. No 3 Olga Poutchkova of Russia was beaten by Germany's Julia Schruff 6-2, 6-2, and Czech Klara Zakopalova ousted seventh-seeded Virginie Razzano of France 6-2, 7-6 (1).
Bartoli's compatriot, No 5 Nathalie Dechy, advanced to the second round, winning her opening-round enounter with Renata Voracova of the Czech Republic 7-5, 6-0.
