Second-seeded Wayne Arthurs and Andreas Vinciguerra won yesterday at the $400,000 Copenhagen Open to set up a second-round meeting.
Arthurs, playing the first center-court match of the day at KB-Hallen, struggled in the first set against Olivier Mutis of France before prevailing 7-6 (5), 6-2.

Vinciguerra, a wildcard entry from Sweden who captured his first ATP title at the 2000 Copenhagen Open and reached the final a year later, beat American Brian Vahaly 6-4, 6-4.
No. 8 Raemon Sluiter of the Netherlands became the sixth seed to fall when he lost 7-6 (6-4), 7-5 to Magnus Norman of Sweden during the evening session.
Olivier Rochus of Belgium became the first player to reach the quarterfinals by beating Lars Burgsmuller a€" the German he lost to in last year's Copenhagen final - 6-1, 6-2.
In other first round matches, Denmark's Kristian Pless whipped American Cecil Mamiit 6-2, 6-0 and Slovakia's Karol Beck downed American Justin Gimelstob 6-4, 6-3. (AP)
