After Wimbledon, French Open increases prize money
The singles champions at the French Open will each receive 1.2 million ($1.7 million), a 7.14 percent increase from last year.

The singles champions at the French Open will each receive €1.2 million ($1.7 million), a 7.14 percent increase from last year.
Organizers say total prize money for the clay-court Grand Slam tournament is going up by 4.24 percent to €17,52 million ($25 million).
Last year, the singles winners each won €1.12 million.
Women gained parity in prize money at the tournament four years ago.
The French Open will be held from May 22-June 5 at Roland Garros.
Wimbledon announced a day earlier that its singles champions will each receive 1.1 million pounds ($1.8 million), a 10 percent increase from last year. Total Wimbledon prize money will be 14.6 million pounds ($23.8 million).
