Zimbabwe started off well with the ball, but once Hetmyer got going, they could do little to stop it. It hasn't been a good transition for Sikandar Raza's side from Sri Lanka to India. "I'm not bothered by the change in venue, we need to learn lessons from this game," says Raza in the post-match presentation.

No surprise at all that Shimron Hetmyer wins the 'Player of the Match' award. A breathtaking knock of 85 off 34 balls, with 7 fours and 7 sixes. He completed his fifty in 19 balls, becoming the fastest West Indian to smash a half-century in T20 World Cup history. 

He also has 17 sixes now in the ongoing edition, which levels him with Nicholas Pooran for the most sixes in a single edition of the T20 World Cup.

West Indies now boast a net-run-rate of +5.350, which is higher than South Africa's +3.800 in Group 1 of the Super 8. This is not good news for India, who will realistically need to win their two remaining games by a big margin to stand a chance of qualifying for the semi-finals. Read more on it HERE.

OUT! Victory for West Indies, they win by a massive 107 runs! Brad Evans will not get his half-century, he mistimes one and the outside edge sees him caught at short third-man. Matthew Forde had taken the first wicket, and he takes the final one too.

This knock is excellent for India, as it has ensured that West Indies will not register as big a run-rate as it seemed at first. If NRR decides the semi-finalists, this Evans innings could be playing a big role.

Realistically, West Indies could even surpass the net-run-rate that South Africa achieved with their 76-run win over India. This would put massive pressure on India to not only win both matches, but also do so in convincing manner, in case semi-final qualification comes down to NRR.

A day where many records tumbled. Shimron Hetmyer made history by smashing the fastest fifty by a West Indian in T20 World Cup history, and the joint-fastest in this edition. West Indies piled up their highest-ever T20 World Cup score, and the second-highest in the history of the tournament.

Sherfane Rutherford finishes off with a boundary. He ends unbeaten on 31 off 13. West Indies post a mammoth 254/6 in 20 overs. It is the second-highest team total in T20 World Cup history, just 6 runs short of the record held by Sri Lanka.

Two massive hits over deep mid-wicket against Graeme Cremer in the 7th over. He then continues the onslaught as Sikandar Raza, and hammers him through the same area for three more sixes in the space of four balls!

The West Indies captain has to walk back. A wicket for Brad Evans in his first over.

But the third one is the best of the lot. Short, and pulled away firmly on the front foot for 4. Pressure on Ngarava, who has been handed a third straight over.

And the over ends with another boundary. Punched through the covers, this time by Shai Hope! 17 off the over.

While Shai Hope has managed to slam two half-centuries, Brandon King has made only 62 runs at a strike-rate of 110. West Indies, who will have to bat first, bring back Romario Shepherd into the XI. Roston Chase misses out.

A crucial thing to watch out for would be whether Zimbabwe are able to adjust to the Indian conditions. They played all of their group games in Sri Lanka, where the tacky and slow-ish nature of surfaces aided them. Whether they'll be able to keep up the momentum on flatter Indian decks will be intriguing to see.

We are just over 10 minutes away from toss time at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. A fast track usually favoured by pacers, it will be interesting to see what the toss-winning captain elects to do.

It will be interesting to see whether Zimbabwe pacer Richard Ngarava makes it back for today's big match. Ngarava took 3 wickets in the first match of the T20 World Cup, but has been out of action since due to injury.

West Indies' unbeaten run has been characterised by key performances from several individuals. Skipper Shai Hope has slammed two fifties, while Shimron Hetmyer and Sherfane Rutherford have played one game-changing knock each. Romario Shepherd took a fifer, Jason Holder got 4 in a match, and Gudakesh Motie has been Mr. Consistent!

Zimbabwe's fairytale run has been defined by the standout performances of a few stars. Opener Brian Bennett is yet to get dismissed in the tournament, slamming 175 runs in 3 matches. Pace duo Blessing Muzarabani and Brad Evans have shone in every game, taking 9 and 8 wickets respectively. And the evergreen Sikandar Raza continues to chip in, be it with ball or bat.

Played 4, Won 4. That is the record for West Indies heading into the Super 8. Shai Hope's side topped Group C, and their performance was headlined by a statement win over England at today's venue, the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Caribbean juggernaut has steadily fired on all cylinders so far, and have emerged as a surprising candidate to go all the way.

Zimbabwe's journey to the Super 8 has been the fairytale story of the ongoing T20 World Cup. Sikandar Raza's boys not only shocked Australia, but also stunned Sri Lanka at their own den to top Group B and enter the Super 8 unbeaten. Their giant-killing streak has come at the expense of Australia, who returned home after the group stages.

India's hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup will be impacted by today's result. Irrespective of who wins today, India must beat the winner of the Zimbabwe vs West Indies match to keep their semi-final hopes alive.
