London 2012 Shooting: Shooters disappoint as Gagan Narang, Manavjit Singh Sandhu fail to qualify
It was a disappointing day for the Indian shooters. While Gagan Narang and Sanjeev Rajput failed to qualify for the 50m Rifle 3 Positions finals, Manavjit Singh Sandhu was out of contention for the Men's Trap finals.

It was a disappointing day for the Indian shooters. While Gagan Narang and Sanjeev Rajput failed to qualify for the 50m Rifle 3 Positions finals, Manavjit Singh Sandhu was out of contention for the Men's Trap finals.
Narang, India's bronze winning shooter scored a total of 1164/1200 whereas Rajput scored 1161/1200 in three sets of Prone, Standing and Kneeling.
Narang got off to a good start in the first set of Prone and scored 398/400. But he failed to continue to momentum and score 377/400 in Standing. He finished with 389/400 in the last set of Kneeling.
Rajput, on the other hand, scored 395/400 in Prone, 378/400 in Standing and 388/400 in Kneeling.
This also ends Narang's campaign at the Games. He participated in two other events: the 10-metre air rifle event, where he won the bronze, and the 50-metre rifle prone.
Italy's Niccolo Campriani created an Olympic record scoring a total of 1,180 with an average of 9.833.

PRONE - Sanjeev Rajput scored 395/400 (98, 98, 99, 100) while Gagan Narang scored 398/400 (100, 99, 100, 99)
STANDING - Sanjeev Rajput scored 378/400 (96, 95, 91, 96) while gagan Narang scored 377/400 (97, 90, 96, 94)
KNEELING - Sanjeev Rajput scored 388/400 (98, 96, 97, 97) while Gagan Narang scored 389/400 (97, 97, 98, 97)
Manavjit, on the other hand, scored 119/125 and finished 15th. In the five rounds, Manavjit scored 24, 24, 22, 25, 24.
