With only three National Sports Federations having so far followed the government instructions, the Indian Sports Ministry reminded the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and several other NSFs to place their audited annual accounts and their balance sheet on their website.
Only Hockey India (HI), All India Chess Federation (AICF) and All India Football Federation (AIFF) have provided the information according to ministry officials.
The ministry on Wednesday issued a third communication in this regard to IOA and NSFs and warned that a failure would result in stoppage of financial assistance and non-renewal of recognition.
"IOA and the NSFs are required to get their accounts audited by Chartered Accountants on the panel of the CAG.... The ministry has noticed that IOA and most of the NSFs have not furnished information sought earlier," a press release by the ministry said.
"It is also noticed that the NSFs are not hosting the information on their website with regard to their important activities such as details of ACTC, annual audited accounts and balance sheets," the release added.
The ministry had earlier communicated to concerned NSFs and IOA in July and August.
"The latest communication from the ministry has been conveyed to the IOA and NSFs that all the aforesaid instructions shall form integral part of the National Sports Development Code of India, 2011," the release said further.
