Harinder Pal Sandhu Enters Last Eight at Indian Squash Circuit

India's fourth-seeded Harinder Pal Sandhu entered the quarterfinals of the men's main draw in the USD 10,000 JSW PSA Indian Squash Circuit second leg when his first round opponent Arthur Moineau retired in the third game after pulling his hamstring.
The two rivals had split the first two games and Sandhu, who won a team gold in the Asian Games in Incheon, was leading 6-1 in the third when his French opponent suffered an injury and retired, to allow a smooth passage for the winner of the Jaipur first leg into the last eight.
"I was not there in the first game at all. This is the first game I've played after Jaipur and the courts are quite different. But I think I moved him well all around the court in the third game and unfortunately, when he lunged, he hurt his hamstring," said 83-ranked Sandhu, who was leading 6-11, 11-6, 6-1 when his opponent retired hurt.
Top seed Zahd Mohammed of Egypt got easily past Indian wild card Kush Kumar in straight games into the quarters at the the Juhu-Vile Parle Gymmkhana.
In the WSA Tour 5 event held concurrently, Pakistan's Sammer Anjum defeated Nikita Joshi of India to enter the quarterfinals. Two other Indian women - Urwashi Joshi and Aishwarya Bhattacharya - also made their exits.
