London 2012: Michael Phelps most-searched athlete on Google
Michael Phelps, who became the most medaled athlete in the history of Olympic Games, is also the most searched sportsperson of the ongoing London Games. Phelps tops Google's list of most searched athlete during the Olympics and the US swimmer is way ahead of the other athletes.

Michael Phelps, who became the most medaled athlete in the history of Olympic Games, is also the most searched sportsperson of the ongoing London Games. Phelps tops Google's list of most searched athlete during the Olympics and the US swimmer is way ahead of the other athletes.
On the other hand, Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt is also a face which needs no introduction. He is a five-time World and three-time Olympic gold medalist. In India both the athletes seems to be climbing high amongst Indian fans. They might not be able to compete against each other in their respective fields, but in the virtual world it is interesting to know who's more popular when pitted against each other.
Using 'Google Insights for Search' in the last 7 days comparing between keywords 'Michael Phelps' and 'Usain Bolt', it's the American swimmer who is driving the most number of Google searches from netizens in India outscoring Bolt's popularity.
Following his historical feat on Tuesday, Phelps was also the most searched athlete. Closely following him is US gymnast McKayla Marone and Colorado swimmer Missy Franklin. Other most searched sportspersons on Tuesday were Queen's granddaughter and British equestrian Zara Phillips and Chinese swimmer Ye Shiwen, Korean fencer Shin A Lam.
