London 2012 Basketball: Take a shot at Google's new Doodle

Wednesday's Google Doodle is the second interactive tribute to the Olympics in as many days. Basketball features here as surfers can take shots at the net in a set time-limit.

Basketball was introduced as an Olympic sport in 1936 although it was showcased in an earlier event. United States have dominated the sport, taking Gold in almost every outing. Erstwhile Soviet Union and Yugoslavia have been the only other participating nations which have managed to take the top-spot on the podium in the 1900s. Argentina took top-honours in 2004.

In the ongoing edition of the Olympics, United States continue to dominate. The confluence of players who also play in the NBA though, has made the contests here extremely close and well fought.
