The mystery girl has surfaced. Madhura Nagendra who walked into the consciousness of India when she unexpectedly marched along with the Indian Olympic contingent is an MBA graduate from Bangalore. She has been splashed across the media and received a lot of negative feedback - and regrets her actions that day.
Madhura returned to Bangalore on Thursday evening. She did not even realize the backlash her action had caused for quite a while after the event. "It was an error of judgment. This act of mine disappointed many. I regret my action," she said.
Her family - parents and her younger sister are supportive of their unexpectedly famous - or notorious - relative. "I did not do a security breach (but) I have hurt the sentiments of my family."ÂÂ
Madhura decided to face the media on her return - and does plan to just get on with her life, hoping perhaps that her Olympic escapade will soon be forgotten.
