Indian Olympic Association (IOA) acting president Vijay Kumar Malhotra, who is recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), boycotted Sunday's Special General Meeting saying he "didn't call it so why attend it". (IOA refuses to accept IOC's chargesheet clause on tainted officials)
Malhotra told IANS that he was upset with the way he was ignored by the IOC, IOA and the sports ministry in the whole process despite being recognised by the IOC as the president of the recognised IOA.
"I was upset with the way I was ignored in the whole process. Despite being recognised as the IOA president by the IOC, I was not consulted in the whole process. I also didn't attend the meeting in Lausanne with IOC, IOA and sports ministry," Malhotra said.
"I didn't call the requisition of the members for this Special General meeting. So why attend the meeting when I haven't called it," he added.
The IOA meeting here was chaired by senior member S. Raghunathan after Malhotra boycotted it.
