For Mehmood Khan, it was a case of split loyalties but both his sons - Yusuf and Irfan - disappointed him as, turning out for different teams, they failed to make their presence felt in an Indian Premier League match at the Feroze Shah Kotla on Thursday.
While elder son Yusuf turned out for the Kolkata Knight Riders, his younger son Irfan played for Delhi Daredvils.
Wearing a Knight Riders jersey, Mehmood was left dejected when Yusuf could not get the massive hits for the KKR. He was caught by his brother Irfan at long-on boundary off Umesh Yadav. "I love to see Yusuf's big hits, but today I was disappointed," he said.
However, he was impressed with the way Irfan bowled. "He bowled well and took a couple of good catches. He is slowly finding his rhythm and I am hopeful that a national call is not too far away," he added.
But when Daredevils started their chase, Irfan (9) too disappointed his father and got out early. He was caught at midwicket by Ryan Ten Doeschate off Iqbal Abdulla.
"It was great to see both my sons playing against each other. It is a completely different feeling for me. I don't know whom to support in this match," added Khan.
