It is the age of caricatures, or so it would seem. India and Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni released an autographed book titled "Howzaat", containing caricatures of the Super Kings players, in Chennai on Friday.
Super Kings team owner Gurunath Meiyappan received the first copy of the book at a function here.
The foreword by Dhoni reads: "As a cricketer, I have been asked to sign autographs by my fans on all sorts of articles, from scraps of paper to soft drink bottles. Most of the fans either end up losing the autographs or they get faded."
"One of my fans, who is an ardent autograph collector for more than 20 years, took my autograph on a caricature which really enthused me and on my suggestion he has conceptualised this book of caricatures of Chennai Super Kings."
The caricatures are by Shijo Varghese from Bangalore and published by N. Vembu Iyer.
Incidentally, in February, Dhoni released a book titled "Stumped" containing the caricatures of all Indian players of World Cup cricket team.
