Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Kolkata Knight Riders were both fined for maintaining slow over rates during Thursday's IPL match between the two sides here.

At the end of the match, both teams were assessed to be one over behind the required rate after allowances were taken into consideration, an IPL release said.

Since it was the first offence of the season for either side, under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, the respective captains - Mahela Jayawardene (Kochi) and Gautam Gambhir (Kolkata) - were each fined USD 20,000.
