Kolkata Knight Riders and India captain for the limited overs series in West Indies - Gautam Gambhir, has been advised rest for 6 to 8 weeks, according to reports.
Appointed skipper for the side after the Board of Control for Cricket in India decided to rest MS Dhoni, Gambhir took a hard fall while fielding against the Mumbai Indians on Sunday at the Eden Gardens. His apparent injury may see his name being ticked off the squad for the tournament beginning June 4 although no official confirmation has been made on the matter.
Gambhir did take to the field against the Mumbai Indians in his team's match on Wednesday.
