Chennai Super Kings beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 32 runs to record their second consecutive victory in the Indian Premier League. After putting on 192/5 on board, CSK restricted KKR to 160/7, with Noor Ahmad returning excellent figures of 4-0-21-3. Rovman Powell (31 not out) and Ramandeep Singh (35) fought well with valiant knocks but could not avert a defeat despite a 63-run stand. Earlier, Sanju Samson (48) and Dewald Brevis (41) made useful contributions as Chennai Super Kings crossed 190. Ayush Mhatre hit six fours and two sixes to make 38 off 17 balls. For KKR, Kartik Tyagi took 2/35 with the ball, while Sunil Narine returned figures of 4-0-21-1.

CSK have done it and they win the match by 32 runs. Second win on the trot for Ruturaj Gaikwad and Co while KKR have still not won a single game in IPL 2026.

It has been a good outing for CSK. They would have been hoping for a 200-plus score but Sanju Samson regained his form and Noor Ahmed and Co truly kept the KKR batters in check. Good signs for CSK despite a slow start to IPL 2026.

CSK are cruising to a huge victory but there is some injury concern as Khaleel Ahmed had to leave the pitch midway into his over. He was about to complete his delivery but it looks like he suffered a cramp and could not continue with the match. CSK will be worried about his fitness with the team regaining their form in the IPL.

KKR 127/6 (16.5 overs)

There has been no intent from KKR batters till now and it looks like they are not even trying for the win. The required rate is over 17 and the focus seems to be on personal numbers and Net Run Rate. Noor Ahmed finished his spell with figures of 3/21 and he will surely be a big choice for the Player of the Match award.

Noor Ahmed strikes again and Rinku Singh departs as well. This is pathetic batting from KKR as they never looked like winning this match. A nothing shot from the out-of-form batter and catching practice in the deep for Shivam Dube.

A miscue from Ajinkya Rahane ended his stay at the crease and on the very next ball, Noor Ahmed clean bowled Cameron Green. A golden duck for the Rs 25.2 crore man and Venky Mysore is visibly upset with this performance. This is not looking good for Rahane and Co at all!

KKR 90/5 (12 overs)

Akeal Hosein strikes and this can be huge for CSK! It is the important wicket of Angkrish Raghuvanshi who was looking quite dangerous. He was dropped by Sarfaraz Khan just one ball ago but Dewald Brevis did not make any mistakes as KKR lost a promising batter.

KKR 81/3 (10 overs)

Just the over the doctor ordered for KKR. Ajinkya Rahane slammed Gurjapneet Singh for two sixes and Angkrish Raghuvanshi finished the over with another four. This was the over that KKR needed and the horrible fielding lapses are really not helping CSK's case.

KKR 77/2 (9 overs)

Horrible fielding from Dewald Brevis as he handed Angrish Raghuvanshi a golden lifeline. It was a somewhat tough catch in the deep but the ball spilled out of the fielder's hands and went directly for a six!

KKR 57/2 (7.5 overs)

That is the end of Sunil Narine and it is Khaleel Ahmed who ended up taking the wicket for CSK. A loose short towards short thirdman and Gurjapneet Singh did not even have to move to complete the catch. The experiment ends and it is not looking good for KKR at all.

KKR 36/2 (5.4 overs)

Sunil Narine continues his destructive batting show as he slammed a couple of good boundaries but he also received a huge lifeline thanks to a dropped catch from CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad. This call has turned out to be a quite a positive one for KKR.

Finn Allen fails once again. A complete miscue against Anshul Kamboj and a very easy catch for Shivam Dube. Allen has struggled massively in IPL 2026 till now and with Tim Seifert in the ranks, this failure may not work out well for him.

Couple of good balls from Khaleel Ahmed but Sunil Narine was back to his vintage best as he heaved the ball over the boundary. Brilliant six and the KKR run chase is underway.

KKR have gone back to the Gautam Gambhir strategy as Sunil Narine will open the batting along with Finn Allen. Ajinkya Rahane demotes himself and this can turn to be a game-changer for the three-time champions.

Another brilliant over by Kartik Tyagi and CSK could only manage to score 192/5 in 20 overs. Both Shivam Dube and Jamie Overton were looking for big shots but Tyagi's nagging line meant that no boundary came in the last over.

Good defensive bowling by Vaibhav Arora. A couple of wides but his strategy meant that the batters were not able to hit him for plenty. 9 runs off the over and KKR will be very happy.

CSK 184/5 (19 overs)

Another wicket for Kartik Tyagi. Dewald Brevis looked to go for the big shot but was caught in the short thirdman by Vaibhav Arora. However, there is no stopping CSK as Jamie Overton is the new batter and he slammed a boundary right away.

CSK 175/5 (18 overs)

Sunil Narine strikes and finally some respite for KKR. Sarfaraz was completely foxed by the googly as it crashed into the off-stump. However, Shivam Dube is the next batter and he can surely hit some big sixes. A four for Dewald Brevis in the over but still a bad over for CSK.

CSK 169/4 (17 overs)

Vaibhav Arora has no idea on how to counter the attack from Dewald Brevis and Sarfaraz Khan. The KKR pacer looks absolutely helpless as Brevis slammed a four and a six off his bowling. Sarfaraz also joined the party with a huge six as CSK race towards a big total.

A six for Sarfaraz Khan followed by two boundaries for Dewald Brevis. No success for Varun Chakravarthy as he looks hopelessly out of form. CSK batters are making merry as they target a 200-plus target.

The run rate has suffered quite a lot since the dismissal of Sanju Samson. With Sunil Narine maintaining a brilliant line, both Sarfaraz and Brevis have struggled to hit him and KKR will be happy with their comeback in this match.

Another six for Sanju Samson and Kartik Tyagi had no reply. However, the fast bowler made a stunning comeback by castling the CSK wicket-keeper batter. Just 2 short of a half-century but it was a nothing shot from the batter as the ball went through his bat and pad to crash into the stumps.

It was a brilliant over by Kartik Tyagi who kept the CSK batters in check for the majority of it. However, a thick outside edge off Sanju Samson's bat flew over the thirdman boundary and the CSK opener is slowly approaching another half-century.

A big chance for KKR as Dewald Brevis miscued a shot off Sunil Narine but the ball was just away from a diving Ajinkya Rahane. No boundaries in the over but the CSK batters made sure that the scorecard kept ticking.

CSK 94/2 (9 overs)

KKR are now looking to go with an all-spin onslaught with Varun Chakravarthy also getting an over. However, there is not much assistance off the pitch and the CSK batters did not find it much difficult to deal with him. A boundary for Sanju Samson through backward point and KKR bowlers look quite clueless at the moment.

Sunil Narine into the attack and he will certainly play a big role tonight. As a senior spinner, a lot will depend on him and he did start well with Samson playing him out cautiously. However, Dewald Brevis looked to attack him on the final ball and was able clear the long-on boundary quite easily.

Three boundaries for Ayush Mhatre in the air but it is Vaibhav Arora who had the last laugh. A miscue from the batter and Ramandeep Singh was able to complete a good catch in the deep. Fightback on for KKR? They will have to take quick wickets because this CSK batting goes quite deep.

A six off the first ball for Sanju Samson but Anukul Roy was able to come back brilliantly as he kept the CSK batters in check. However, it is not looking like the KKR bowlers have a clear plan on how to get these batters out. This can be a long night for Rahane and co.

Two fours and two sixes for Ayush Mhatre in the over against Cameron Green. This has been sensational from the youngster as he looks extremely confident for CSK and the Australia all-rounder has no answer to this onslaught. KKR will have to look for a new plan against Mhatre and Sanju Samson.

Anukul Roy was brought into the attack by KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane and the gamble worked wonders. Ruturaj Gaikwad went for the big shot but was caught in deep mid-wicket by Rovman Powell. Ayush Mhatre did get a boundary in the final ball of the over but this can be a huge moment for KKR.

Cameron Green into the attack and not much luck for him. An outside edge from Ruturaj Gaikwad flew towards the short third-man area but it was just away from Varun Chakravarthy. One boundary and CSK are off to a good start.

What a start for Sanju Samson! Two boundaries through the thirdman area and a brilliant shot through point that raced to the boundary. This is brilliant stuff from the opener who scored a century in his last game.

It is time for the much-anticipated encounter! Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sanju Samson will open the innings for CSK while Vaibhav Arora will start proceedings for KKR.

An interesting thing for all cricket fans will be whether Cameron Green will bowl more than 2 overs today. He was initially stopped from bowling by Cricket Australia and even after getting clearance, the all-rounder bowled just 2 overs in the last match.
