Royal Challengers Bengaluru slumped to their third loss in the ongoing IPL 2024 as they were completely outplayed by Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday. Quinton De Kock played a brilliant knock to provide the perfect foundation while Nicholas Pooran ended the LSG innings with a quickfire 40 off 21 balls. In response, RCB never looked in control as a three-wicket haul from young pacer Mayank Yadav ended their hopes of winning the match. In a video posted by RCB on social media, Kohli could be seen looking dejected as head coach Andy Flower delivered a post-match speech to the players in the dressing room.
"We have exciting opportunities just around the corner in a few days time. The opportunity that I see how can we respond. It was a tough day! Everyone in this room is hurting. But the opportunity that I see is, how can we respond?" Flower said in the video posted on X (formerly Twitter).

RCB skipper Faf du Plessis also expressed his disappointment at the result but thanked the fans for their support and promised to try harder when they come back to Bengaluru for the next leg of home matches.
"RCB fans thank you very much for your support. It's amazing to see the fans, disappointed with the last two performances. The team is hurting up there but we are very grateful for your support and we have to see you back when we get back to Bengaluru, Thank you so much, it means so much to us."
Faf du Plessis decoded the set of skill set that makes Mayank Yadav so lethal after enduring a 28-run defeat against Lucknow Super Giants at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The Delhi tearaway left RCB batters at his mercy following his sensational spell which saw him register 3/14.
On a night when records tumbled as LSG pacer clocked 156.7 kmph to bowl the fastest delivery in the ongoing edition and overall the fourth fastest in the history of the entire tournament.
He dismissed Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green and Rajat Patidar which dented RCB's hopes of chasing 182.
After the game, Du Plessis pointed out the factors that makes Mayank more deadly apart from his sheer pace.
"As with any new young fast bowler, it's an action you haven't faced before and he has the pace behind it. His pace was great but more impressive was his ability to control length and bowl with discipline. It's pace combined with accuracy," du Plessis said after the game.
