Courtesy Musheer's blitzkrieg -- 118 off 106 balls, India posted an imposing 301 for 7 against Ireland, which in any case, would have been an uphill challenge to surpass. ...Presentation time...
Earlier, Indian openers started well. They were a bit defensive with their approach but once the top order gelled in, runs started to flow. Musheer Khan was the hero for them with a brilliant ton, he along with the skipper laid in a massive stand and laid a platform for the likes of Aravelly Rao and Sachin Dhas give a blistering finish. Anything close to 300 was going to be hard for the Irish team and it turned out to be a one-sided affair in the end.
A dominating performance by India. It was always going to be hard for the Irish team to chase down such a massive total. The openers were cautious at the start but once they fell, the floodgates opened and it was a procession after that. No one tried to build a stand and the wickets kept falling right after the end. Oliver Riley and Daniel Forkin at the back end were the top scorers for them with 15 and 27 respectively. That tells you the story. Naman Tiwari and Saumy Pandey bowled really well and scalped 7 wickets together. Two losses in two games for Ireland while India lock their spot on top of the table for now.
