Wales to host 2010 Ryder Cup
Wales will stage the Ryder Cup for the first time in 2010 with Scotland holding it in 2014.

Wales will stage the Ryder Cup for the first time in 2010 with Scotland holding it in 2014. The European Ryder Cup Board announced on Friday that the four Ryder Cups in Europe from 2018 to 2030 will be held outside Britain and rotated around the continent. This yeara€™s event was postponed to next year after the terrorist attacks in the USA. It has been rescheduled for September 27-29, 2002, and the event will now run on even years.
The Ryder Cup board made the announcement of future host courses on the day the 34th Ryder Cup had been scheduled to start at the Belfry in England.
They also announced their intention to expand host nations into continental Europe. "The host countries for the Ryder Cup matches for 2010 and 2014 will be Wales and Scotland respectively. And that the matches will rotate around continental Europe from 2018. The 38th Ryder Cup matches will be played at Celtic Manor and the 40th played at the Gleneagles Hotel, in Scotland. The 2018, 22, 26, 30 matches will be played in continental Europe," said Richard Hill, Ryder Cup Director.
The European board said it was planning to rotate the Ryder Cup around the continent to further stimulate the game throughout Europe. Courses in Spain, Germany, Sweden, France, Italy and other countries will be considered for the Ryder Cup in 2018, 2022, 2026 and 2030.
